Dr Carey Nazzer ...

Dr Carey Nazzer graduated from Auckland Medical School in 1992. She worked as a house surgeon at Taranaki Base Hospital for three years where she completed Post Graduate Diplomas in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Paediatrics. Carey has worked as a General Practioner (GP) since 1995, and has worked at CAREfirst.co in New Plymouth from 2002 to 2014. She is a fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners.
Carey is also a medical herbalist having completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Science (herbal medicine) at the University of New England, NSW, Australia. The diploma has a strong emphasis on the evidence-base of herbal medicines as well as a focus on the traditional aspects of their use. Carey is a member of the New Zealand Association of Medical Herbalists.
In 2012, Carey obtained her fellowship from the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM). She has regularly attended their intensive training programmes/conferences in New Zealand and Australia since 2006.
Prior to training in medicine, Carey obtained a Masters degree in Physical Education and a BSc in Psychology from the University of Otago. She worked in academic and market research in Auckland for five years before attending medical school.
